Selecting the Right Fish for your Aquarium

You will enjoy having fish for pets, but only if you know how to care for them. Aquariums form a beautiful section of a house. But the work involved in keeping an aquarium can put off so many people. Danios are characterized by being small, active and colorful. You will find these as red, yellow and green. You will see them as active but they are not aggressive and do well with other species. They shall do well in a large aquarium with gravel and plants at the bottom, with pH levels close to that of fresh water.
Black Molly, however, can live in any water. You will find them easier to care for. They tend to be platinum colored, dusty gold or black. They prefer to eat flake and pellet foods, bloodworms and brine shrimp. They live well with other similar sized fish.
Platies shall be in more color, such as in blue, purple, red-orange, and yellow. They can also be bred for more color options. They are quiet and live well among other quiet fish. Their males are usually tinnier than the females. You should put them in warmer water, and feed them flake food, freeze-dried food, and algae.
Betta fish come in shapes like half-moon, double-tail and crown tail. They like warmer water that is rinsed off often.
Neon Tetra come with silver or white abdomens with bright blue backs. They are also social with other species.
Guppies are the more playful ones and tend to breed a lot. If you have few of them, with time they shall multiply a lot. Their females grow much bigger, almost twice the males. The males are however the brighter colored ones.
Rainbow fish have several colors on. They appear even more colorful once they settle in the aquarium. They will also not be so active and prefer the company of less active fish as well.
Glofish are similar to Danios but also come with a neon shine. They are also less active fish.
These are some of the fish that shall give you a great looking aquarium, with minimal maintenance work.
